Love That Mohawk!

I seem drawn to two kinds of newborns... those with no hair and those with absolutely wild hair--guess I'm an all or nothing kind of girl. Probably why I wanted to shave my little Falynn's head when she started losing it in patches :)  Don't worry Nana or Aunt Trish, I definitely did not but I would be lying if I said I didn't want to! Little Mr. B. falls into the crazy, wild, absolutely ADORABLE hair category. It was definitely perfect for the faux-hawk! Rock that hair Little B... you were so super cuddly and perfect!

Newborns... LOVE THEM :)

Can I just get all newborns sent to the studio??? Between 5 and 10 days, babies are perfectly "squishy." At this stage with a little magic, I can get them to sleep and move just about any way! Ms. K. was a little fussy, but we managed to get some oh so ADORABLE shots for Mommy and Daddy to always remember how little she was!!!

C + C

Big brother did so well with little sister at this session. It really takes a lot of patience--inevitably the whole goal of the session is for the big sibling not to throw the little one off their lap and onto the floor ;)  Kidding aside, we were able to accomplish portraits together and separately for each--quite the feat in a 45 minute session!

Beads and feathers for Ms. F.

Sometimes smiles are optional. For Ms. F., that was the exact case--she didn't want to give me any! While she was saving those grins, how could you not just melt over a little girl in her feathers and beads?!? All is well though, she gave me a couple smirks... just enough to make us say ahhhhh...

Miss N. is 1!

Lots of birthdays! Brecken was 3 and now Ms. N turned 1! She is one busy, busy little girl! This was a FAST one... we had to be. She was at the other end of the studio in a blink ;) Mom got to take a break during the cake part of the session though, she LOVED the cake! Happy Birthday Ms. N!

My Baby is 3?

Another edit from above...

My Brecken is 3! I'm not going to lie... yes, I did cry. Every year now my sister, Tiffaney, always has Brecken buy me flowers on his birthday. I held it together the entire day until that evening when he brought me the flowers. Every Mother knows how fast the time goes and how beautiful the gift every child is and on days like these you just can't help but soak it all up. I'm thankful I have the gift to capture his beauty--and the beauty of kids everywhere. God is good.

Work from the plane :)

Anxiety doesn't even begin to describe the feeling overtaking my body when stepping on the plane to take a 4 hour plane ride to San Diego with a 7 week old and 3 year old. In my mind I was just accepting the fact that everyone around me would hate us by the time the landing gear hit the runway. However, my kids gave me the best gift anyone could give me at that moment... the ability to put my foot in my mouth! They both were fabulous, so much so that I was able to work!

Here's a snip it from my edits from thousands of feet above the clouds :)  Little Ms. L...

Happy Ms. C.

It was super fun shooting Ms. C!  She just happens to be just about the size my little Falynn is, so how could I not fall in love?!? And even better, she smiled and smiled and smiled nearly the whole session... ahhh... happy to be back!

Birthday Girl :)

Little Ms. D is a year! I get a little nostalgic on posts like these... when I've seen a little one grow from just days old. She's absolutely adorable, always super smiley :)  This session though, we had a little stranger danger going on--no big deal though, Mommy sat close and I sat across the room with a long lens. She thought I was really funny from long distances, but not really funny a few feet from her  :)  I've been there and done that with my kiddos; it's just part of growing up!

Back in the Saddle

It's funny how much I love my job... I thought I'd be taking a full 8 weeks off to rest and relax and get in a little break, but well, I just can't. It's been a little over 5 weeks now and I'm shooting again. And in my head I had aspirations of how I'd just be taking a couple appointments a week and I'd work my way back into it, again--wrong. Next week I'm already back to double digit appointments. I'm not one bit sorry about that. I LOVE what I do and in fact, last night at one of my shoots... I got such a gratifying feeling when I looked at the back of the camera and saw the images--I just can't wait!

Here was my first appointment back from last week. I'm a little slow getting a peek up, but well... it's the first one back and I'm brushing the dust bunnies off my shoulders :)
