Kara + Steve

When I first started shooting weddings, I knew all of my brides--in fact, most were friends, or a friend of a friend.  I didn't have a studio or lots of fancy stuff at the time.  To be honest, they just knew I was creative and could run a SLR.  Fast forward to now, 4 years later... I don't know the majority of my clients when they book. Of course that changes pretty fast, but the whole process is different from back then (in a good way of course!) But... I have an exception this summer--Kara. Kara and I went to college together.  We were in the same sorority.  Don't roll your eyes; it wasn't lame, I promise.  She now lives in Columbia so we don't get to see each other nearly as much as I'd like. But I'm really excited to be shooting her big day. She and Steve paid me a visit last week to take some engagement pictures.  They are both so kind and so fantastic and best of all... so in love. Ms. D has arrived!

Just recently I posted pics of Jessica -- the beautiful pregnant lady...

Well, since then... little Ms. D has made her arrival!  Jessica answered my plea and brought her to the studio at just 3 days old!!!  I was (and am still) so ecstatic!  This was the first time I got to work with a baby that small.  From birth day until about 7 days, babies are still "squishy"--they are posable and sleep a lot... perfect for pictures.  Jessica is coming in today to see, but here's a quick peek.

Puppy Love.

A good babysitter is one of those secrets you guard and hesitate to share for fear that she/he won't be available when you need them. Yeah? I know some of you moms out there feel that way... right? I'm going to share mine with you -- first name only though ;)  Ana watches Brecken a lot while I work during the summer along and now on a weekly basis while Josh and I have "date night." We love her and she's absolutely a fantastic girl.  She and her boyfriend just celebrated their year anniversary (puppy love is so cute!) so I treated them to some pics. Take a peek...

We're 3!

Meet the triplets! They just turned a fabulous 3 years old. Their annual pictures last year were rough -- lots of tears and sad faces, so I was bound and determined to redeem myself and make this year's shoot much more joyful. I've gotten a little wiser since... I came prepared with balloons and candy :)  I can only give you a peek (Mom hasn't seen them all yet), but I assure you there will be more to come here and in the studio!

Micah + Benitez.

Hot, hot, hot! These two got the smoldering kiss down!  Micah and Benitez were awesome to shoot. I love it that they have style and flair. Here's your peek ~ the rest are coming in the mail! 

2 is Awesome.

2 is inquisitive. 2 is emotional. 2 is busy. 2 is awesome! I think.. no... I know 2 gets a bad rap. I can say this because I have a two year old myself. A two year old is a mimic and a sponge. I love, love, love filling my little guys head with all sorts of fun ideas and showing him the beauty of every day (give you little ones a squeeze!) Yeah, they occasionally throw a fit--only because life is frustrating and they just can't quite understand how to display that yet. 

Caleb is turning 2. His baby blues make me just want to squeeze those cheeks! He's a deep thinker (check out portrait #1!) and such a sweet heart. Take a peek!
